Our Mission
Our Vision
Danu Insight's vision is to Institutionalise systemic risk analysis across the investment chain so that the financial sector has the excuse to do the right thing to enable Government regulations and policies on climate and biodiversity-related harms.
We are developing a comprehensive database by offering strong, data-driven insights into how lobbying influences legislation and public policy that affects the planet. Our goal is to integrate corporate political influence into investor decision-making and highlight the systemic importance of lobbying harms within a Universal Ownership framework.
Our long-term goal is to develop analyses grounded in the principles of systemic stewardship, enabling the financial system to fully understand and act on the interconnectedness between company-level impacts, the degradation of ecosystem services, and the value of the all markets.
The Need
At this pivotal moment, the world faces climate breakdown and environmental crises that imperil our global ecosystems, from rampant deforestation and eroding biodiversity to water scarcity and the impending collapse of oceanic systems due to pollution and overfishing. These environmental challenges signal potential ecological collapse and pose risks to human well-being, social cohesion, and economic stability.
There is a pressing need for policy recalibration—revising taxes, subsidies, and regulations on agriculture, fishing, and chemical use to safeguard ecological balance and ensure sustainability.
Corporate Lobbying Analysis
-
Comprehensive Data Aggregation: We collect vast amounts of data from multiple reliable sources, including government consultation repositories, corporate disclosures, and publicly available documents. Our automated tools systematically gather information from key jurisdictions, including the USA and the EU, with an aim to cover 40 identified global consultation repositories.
-
Net Zero AI Analysis: Utilising bespoke AI models, we process and analyse complex lobbying communications efficiently and accurately. Our AI models have been fine-tuned with specialised training datasets to interpret sector-specific lobbying activities, ensuring nuanced and precise analysis. This approach has provided us with unparalleled speed and agility, allowing us to create over 100,000 scored evidence pieces with a small team. We have demonstrated this capability in our online prototype.
-
Transparency in Lobbying Governance: Danu’s prototype analyses the effectiveness of companies' internal lobbying governance policies and oversight structures. We also assess the transparency of their lobbying activities, including their disclosure of the legislation they target, methods of influence, and desired policy outcomes. By creating a dataset currently unavailable in the market and making it publicly accessible, we aim to enhance scrutiny and transparency, which can, directly and indirectly, encourage companies and trade associations to improve their lobbying transparency and governance through investor pressure .
-
Financialising corporate lobbying impacts: Our analysis sheds light on how corporate lobbying can distort market conditions, disrupt regulatory frameworks, and ultimately impact asset valuations. By assigning financial metrics to the impact of corporate lobbying, we enable investors to identify companies whose practices could potentially harm their future returns. These practices may include opposing progressive regulatory frameworks or hindering ecological protective measures.

Expansion to Other Environmental Issues
At Danu Insight, we understand that climate change is connected to health of the entire biosphere. For this reason, we are committed to expanding our analytical framework to include issues such as biodiversity loss, land use changes, and impacts on marine ecosystems.
By broadening our focus, we aim to provide a more comprehensive understanding of how corporate actions affect not only the climate but also the health of terrestrial and aquatic environments.
